With the increasingly fierce development of the automotive industry, the automotive mold industry has also gradually heated up. Recently, at the Hengli Mold Industry Summit Forum in Dongguan, it was introduced that the automotive and motorcycle industries have an annual demand for more than 70 billion molds, but our country's manufacturing capacity for large precision molds is still far from enough. Currently, almost all of China's high-end sedan cover molds rely on imports.
There is also a high demand for plastic molds for large and medium-sized interior and exterior parts. The development of large-scale precision automotive and motorcycle cover molds with high technological content, as well as plastic molds for large and medium-sized interior and exterior parts, is an important task for China's automotive and motorcycle molds in the future.
In China's mold market, the development of automotive molds is of paramount importance. Because the automobile and motorcycle industry is one of the five pillar industries of China's national economy, the production and sales volume of automobiles in China exceeded 19.31 million units in 2012. From the perspective of industrial economic development laws, China's automobile and motorcycle industry has entered the stage of "economic takeoff". Such production and sales volume will inevitably bring strong domestic demand and a huge market for automobile and motorcycle molds.
For example, in Germany, the average amount of plastic products used in each car has reached nearly 300 kilograms, accounting for about 22% of the total materials consumed in automobiles, making it the country with the highest use of automotive and motorcycle plastic parts in the world. On average, each car in Japan uses around 100 kilograms of plastic, and they even use plastic products for all interior parts such as instrument panels.
At present, the application of plastic products for automobiles and motorcycles has evolved from ordinary decorative parts to structural and functional parts. The use of plastic raw materials has also expanded from ordinary plastics to composite materials or plastic alloys with higher and better impact resistance. It can be foreseen that with the improvement of plastic materials and their molding technology and processes, the application of plastic products in the automotive and motorcycle industries will become more common, which will inevitably lead to the great development of automotive and motorcycle molds.
With the rapid growth of China's automobile and motorcycle exports, the replacement of wood and metal with plastic molds will greatly increase the demand for plastic molds in the automobile and motorcycle industry, especially with the development of new materials and molding technologies, which will lead to an increasing demand for plastic products in the automobile and motorcycle industry. To a certain extent, the amount of plastic products used in automobiles and motorcycles can reflect the level of development of a country's automobile and motorcycle industry.
