Mold experts predict the situation of China's mold industry in 2013

Update Time:2013-10-16 Clicks:0

The various tools and products we use in our daily production and life, from the base and shell of machine tools to the shell of various household appliances, are all closely related to molds. From the current development trend of China's hardware mold industry, it can be seen that the development of China's mold industry in 2013 was significantly better than in 2012. Will this trend of improvement continue? Let's take a look at the predictions of mold experts on the situation of China's mold industry in 2013.

The Chinese economy is currently in a critical period of transitioning to a growth phase and seeking a new equilibrium. Recently, Luo Baihui, Secretary General of the International Mold Association, stated at the strategic signing ceremony of the Central China Mold City that the demand in the mold market is beginning to pick up, and the development trend is becoming increasingly clear. It is estimated that China's consumption and export growth in 2013 will be roughly the same as in 2012, but investment growth is facing downward pressure. Although the expected GDP growth rate for the whole year is likely to remain around 8%, the manufacturing industry is still affected by overcapacity, rising costs, and low profits. Looking ahead to 2013, the global economy will still be in a period of adjustment after the financial crisis in the mold industry, and the overall situation may be slightly better than in 2012, but the situation will still be complex and variable, with increasing risks and uncertain factors, and sustained sluggishness and low-speed growth will remain the main tone.

The supporting role of the mold industry in the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry is widely recognized. Despite the lack of momentum for global economic recovery last year and the serious impact of the European debt crisis on China's economy, the mold industry in China has achieved rapid growth. It is reported that China's mold exports reached 3.731 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 24.16%.

The shape of the mold determines the appearance of these products, and the processing quality and accuracy of the mold also determine the quality of these products. Due to the different materials, appearances, specifications, and uses of various products, molds are divided into non plastic molds such as casting molds, forging molds, die-casting molds, stamping molds, and plastic molds.

The implementation of the strategy of expanding domestic demand will promote the development of China's manufacturing industry. The development of large user industries such as automobiles, home appliances, IT industry, packaging, building materials, and daily necessities will still provide great market space for the development of the mold industry. For example, more than 90% of automobile manufacturing processes use molds, and automobile related molds account for over one-third of China's total mold production. Germany, Japan, and the United States account for over 40%, and the development of automobile molds mainly relies on the launch of new vehicle models; More than 90% of plastic products are formed by molds, so plastic molds account for 45% of China's total mold production. In 2012, China's plastic products reached nearly 60 million tons, with an annual growth rate of 15% to 20%.

Due to manufacturing costs and other reasons, the demand for mid to low end molds, including some mid to high end molds, in industrialized countries is mainly solved through external procurement. Our country's mold level and export capacity can fully meet the needs, so there is a huge market space for mold exports.

After 30 years of development, the system of China's mold industry is basically complete, the technical level has greatly improved, and the management ability has continuously improved. Looking ahead to 2013, it is certain that the mold industry will grow by 10% by accelerating transformation and upgrading, enhancing innovation capabilities, and improving product levels. Meanwhile, due to the comparative advantage of China's molds in the international market, it is still possible for the annual export growth rate to reach around 20%.

According to this development trend, China's mold industry should make relevant preparations and arrange production and sales for one year.

The domestic hardware mold manufacturing industry holds a special position in the product manufacturing system, and its level of development determines the overall level of the manufacturing industry. Experts point out that during the 12th Five Year Plan period, the overall goal of the development of intelligent mold manufacturing equipment in China's strategic emerging industries is to promote the overall level of efficient, precise, and high-performance molds through the development of intelligent molds, and to meet the supporting requirements of "intelligent manufacturing" to drive the overall level of mold services for strategic emerging industries. This will significantly improve the level of intelligent molds and lay a solid foundation for China's mold industry to enter the world mold power by 2020.
